Situated on a hillside in Orinda, California, this whole home renovation project included removal of some interior walls and reconfiguration of the kitchen for a better connection to the other interior spaces. The upper and lower decks were rebuilt, with portions removed to enhance valley views.

A midcentury modern home in Castro Valley had a tight budget, so Spartan Construction collaborated with the designer and homeowner to value engineer the project during preconstruction. By not moving appliances and plumbing from their current locations, and self-performing all aspects of the project, Spartan Construction was able to keep costs down without sacrificing quality.
